Release date for Windows 8 is set for October 2012. Minimum System Requirement for Windows 8 According to Microsoft the minimum system requirements for Windows 8 is same as Windows 7.

4. DirectX 9 supported graphics device.

  For x86-64(64-bit) Architecture

1. 1GHz processor.
2. 2GB of RAM.
3. 20GB of Hard Disk space.
4. DirectX 9 supported graphics device.

For metro applications screen resolution of 1024x768 or higher required.

How to get Windows 8 Release Preview

You can download Windows 8 Release Preview free ISO IMAGE from Microsoft website.
You can install Windows 8 Release Preview parallel to your exiting copy of Windows OS using Dual Boot or on Virtual Machine or on your Mac (iMac or Macbook) using Boot Camp software.
